Quality Assurance Project Lead

Job Title: Quality Assurance Project Lead Location: Remote Type: Contract Contractor Work Model: Remote Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and maintain quality assurance program processes including writing instructions, procedures, and other requirement and guidance documents for the quality assurance program.
• Review Level 2 and higher procedures for compliance with the Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD – 10CFR50 Appendix B) and other international standards.
• Support ASME Section III supplier qualification and implementation audits, including surveillances, internal quality assurance audits, surveillances, assessments, and causal analyses.
• Lead or participate in causal analyses as certified Lead Auditor.
• Assist with ASME Code Section III activities such as reviewing changes to the Code and evaluating Code supplier QA program documents.
• Review procurement documents for Code items and services.
• Serve as primary Project Quality representative for 10CFR50 Appendix B and/or ASME Code Section III projects.
• Provide formal and on-the-job Quality Assurance training to staff.
• Mentor and serve as a technical resource in nuclear quality assurance, guiding personnel and supporting industry initiatives to stay current with trends, NRC concerns, and technological advancements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• B.S. or B.A. degree required; technical degree preferred or 8 additional years of relevant experience (total 18 years).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in development and/or implementation of nuclear quality assurance programs.
• At least 5 years’ experience implementing an ASME BPVC Section III program, including certification of data reports and interface with Authorized Nuclear Inspectors.
• Strong understanding and implementation of ASME BPVC Section III, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, NQA-1, and international regulations.
• Excellent communication skills (writing, presentation, interpersonal).
• Ability to manage complex tasks and projects effectively.
• Current or previous certification as a Lead Auditor in NQA-1 or 10 CFR 50 Appendix B highly preferred; candidate must become certified as a Lead Auditor.
• Experience with ISO 9001 quality requirements in conjunction with NQA-1 and Appendix B; international experience is a plus.
• Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
