Job Description

Quality Assurance Supervisor- 2nd Shift

The Quality Assurance Supervisor will establish, supervise, administer and monitor quality assurance programs to assure that policies, procedures, specifications, HACCP, EQMS, and BRC standards and regulatory requirements are consistently followed. This individual will help oversee the lab and lab techs and assist the management teams in the maintenance of the quality system. They are also expected to conduct internal inspections of our facility for quality issues as well as employee safety and work habits and communicate to management staff members and front-line workers for improvement.

Hours: 2nd shift Monday- Friday typically 2 pm- 11 pm. Weekends and overtime as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor quality procedures within assigned departments to ensure proper policies, procedures, HACCP, Helix, Land O'Lakes EQMS, BRC, and regulatory requirements are being consistently followed.

  • Work with cross functional departments to address quality issues to achieve established plant quality objectives.

  • Provide support to the plant by working cross functionally to find root cause, corrective actions, and preventative actions for all food safety and quality events.

  • Needs knowledge on Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement Principles to complete fishbone diagrams, cause map analysis', 5 Why Processes, and Corrective and Preventative Actions.

  • Perform internal audits of processes, building infrastructure, Land O'Lakes Enterprise Quality Management System.

  • Driver of HACCP Changes, reviews, and willingness to work with corporate for HACCP modifications and maintaining the flow diagrams and hazard analysis.

  • Has to be able to recognize when a change to the program is needed based on FSMA, EQMS, and BRC Standards.

  • Needs technical knowledge on risk assessments, Microbiology Principles, and Food Safety Control Measures.

  • Needs complete understanding and wide application of principles related to manufacturing control plans and industry standards.

  • Will create and maintain quality related trainings plant wide.

  • Support production and perform special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must have working knowledge of driving Process Improvements, Lean Practices, Continuous Improvements or being a Change Agent.

  • Knowledge on FSMA, regulatory requirements, HACCP, etc.

  • Strong attention to detail; Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Portrays appropriate levels of integrity and professionalism.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills; Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, and regulatory agencies by exhibiting exemplary interpersonal skills.

  • Self-starter with initiative to complete projects under general direction.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with Quality Audits including FSMA, regulatory, and customer audits preferred.

  • Manufacturing Sanitation knowledge or experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of lab equipment and testing procedures preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 plus years in Food/Dairy manufacturing/processing environment or related skills/experience.

  • The ideal individual possesses 2 plus years of proven leadership skills and experience managing people including employee development.

Salary Range: $70,800 - $106,200. In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges.
