Overview
Job Description
- Implement, maintain, and continuously improve quality assurance and quality control programs for the fabrication facility
- Perform incoming, in‑process, and final quality inspections of materials, components, and assembled products
- Verify fabrication and assembly work meets drawings, specifications, and quality requirements
- Identify, document, and track non‑conformances; coordinate rework, corrective, and preventive actions
- Maintain inspection checklists, quality records, and acceptance documentation
- Support development and enforcement of standard work instructions and quality procedures
- Partner with shop leadership to address quality issues and drive process improvements
- Maintain QA, QC, and other documentation, logs, training records, and compliance reports
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits and corrective action responses
- Track, trend, and report quality and safety performance metrics
- Ensure documentation supports traceability, audit readiness, and customer expectations
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance and/or quality control within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements
- Hands‑on experience performing inspections and verifying product conformance
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident or non‑conformance investigations
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, procedures, and quality requirements
- Strong analytical, documentation, organizational, and communication skills
- Quality certifications (ISO, internal auditor training, or similar)
- Experience in a regulated or government‑contracted environment
- Familiarity with continuous improvement or Lean principles
- Ability to work routinely in an industrial shop environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs as required
- Occasional exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and moving equipment
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Excellent internal and external customer service and communication/interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to deal with conflicts and stressful situations.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments and projects.
- Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint.
