Position: Materials Lead (full-time, permanent) Location: Various projects across North Central USA Rotation: 3 weeks on, 1 week off Schedule: 6 days on, 1 day off

Job Overview Reporting directly to the Quality Control Manager, with a functional reporting relationship to the Quality Manager, the Quality Coordinator provides quality systems coordination and quality readiness support for a large-scale transmission construction project located in the North Central Region of the United States.
The Quality Coordinator is responsible for coordinating quality planning, documentation readiness, audits, and corrective action tracking to ensure construction activities comply with Company quality standards, Contract requirements, and applicable regulatory obligations. The role works closely with the Quality Manager, Field Inspectors, Construction Coordinators, and Project Coordinators to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined, implemented, and tracked throughout project execution.
This position does not perform physical inspections or approve work acceptance. Inspection execution is performed by Field Inspectors, and quality acceptance authority remains with the Quality Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
QUALITY PLANNING & SYSTEM COORDINATION
- Support the Quality Manager in the implementation and maintenance of the Project Quality Management Plan (QMP) and applicable quality procedures
- Coordinate the development, maintenance, and revision of quality documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality control forms, and audit tools
- Ensure quality requirements are clearly communicated to Construction and Project teams and aligned with execution planning and sequencing
QUALITY DOCUMENTATION COORDINATION & READINESS
- Coordinate the preparation, completeness, and readiness of quality documentation, including inspection records, audit reports, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
- Review quality documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project, contractual, and corporate requirements
- Track quality documentation status and support timely submission, close-out, and project turnover documentation
- Interface with Project Coordinators and Document Control to ensure approved quality records are properly transmitted, logged, and retained
INSPECTION & COMPLIANCE COORDINATION
- Coordinate inspection scheduling and quality activities with Field Inspectors, Construction teams, and Client representatives as required
- Support the administration and tracking of NCRs, including corrective actions and close-out verification
- Identify and escalate quality trends, recurring issues, or unresolved deficiencies to the Quality Manager and Project Manager
AUDITS, COMPLIANCE & CONTNIUOUS IMPROVEMENT
- Support internal quality audits and supplier/subcontractor quality monitoring in accordance with Company and contractual requirements
- Assist with reporting on project quality activities, metrics, and status as required
- Promote a positive quality culture by supporting continuous improvement initiatives and incorporating lessons learned into project processes
INTERFACE & COMMUNICAITON
- Work collaboratively with Construction Coordinators to support field quality readiness without assuming execution responsibility
- Support preparation of quality-related inputs for internal and external reporting as requested by the Project Manager or Quality Manager
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in quality coordination, quality systems support, or QA/QC roles within construction or industrial environments
- Experience on linear infrastructure or utility projects (transmission, pipeline, roadway, rail, or similar) is considered an asset
- Familiarity with QA/QC processes, including ITPs, audits, NCRs, and quality documentation workflows
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong understanding of construction quality management systems (QMS) and quality control processes
- High attention to detail with the ability to review, verify, and validate technical documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
- Proficient in digital tools and platforms, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and experience with construction management systems such as Procore or similar; familiarity with GIS is an asset
- Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability
- Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across field, project, and management teams
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships and contribute positively within a team environment
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and learning, and a positive, solutions-oriented attitude
ADDITIONAL DETAILSThis position requires candidates to:
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States or able to obtain and maintain U.S. work authorization
- Successfully complete pre-employment and site-specific drug and alcohol testing
- Maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Complete background screening and criminal record checks as required
- This is a site-based role operating on a rotational schedule. The anticipated rotation is three (3) weeks on / one (1) week off, working six (6) days on and one (1) day off (Sundays), with ten (10) hour workdays. Rotation and schedule are subject to project needs and construction sequencing, and flexibility to adjust during critical phases is required.
