Job Details

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Own in-process and final quality for assigned programs, ensuring product compliance with customer and division requirementsReview design drawings, operation sheets, process procedures, test procedures, procurement documents, quality manuals, and inspection analysesSupport the contract review process and interpret AS9100C, ISO9001:2008, ASQR-01, and other customer/material/process specificationsPerform internal quality audits (AS9100 audit experience a plus)Provide quality support to the Engineering group for NPI and analysis of nonconforming partsInterface with Customer Service to resolve customer quality issues and respond to Customer Corrective Action Requests (CARs) with effective process improvementsSupport Purchasing with material procurement, special process, and approved supplier requirementsGenerate and review quality metrics and trends to mitigate process risk and drive improvementsMeasure and monitor supplier performance; work directly with suppliers to resolve and prevent nonconforming productPerform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) using tools such as 8D and 5 Why'sLead and support Quality Clinic activitiesMaintain Quality Records to ensure compliance with all applicable regulationsImplement new inspection tools and technology (CMM, vision systems, etc.)Support continuous improvement projects and flow quality requirements to suppliers

QUALIFICATIONS — NEEDED

Bachelor's degree in a related field OR 5+ years of hands-on inspection experience in lieu of degreeMinimum 2–3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or equivalent role in a precision manufacturing environmentExperience or strong background in aerospace/defense manufacturing with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systemsWorking knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Lean principlesAbility to validate inspections, interpret GD&T blueprints, and perform shop math including trigonometryProven ability to perform Root Cause and Corrective Action using 8D, 5 Why's, or similar structured methodologiesExperience interfacing with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issuesProficient in Microsoft Windows and Office SuiteStrong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to motivate others and drive quality solutionsMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug screenPhysical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs frequently, and occasionally stoop/bend/kneel/climb
