POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Team Leader is responsible for ensuring product and process quality across Lectra's North American manufacturing, operations. This role leads the local Quality team in Tolland and acts as a key partner to Production, Engineering, Customer Care, and Supply Chain teams onsite. This position reports to the Industrial Quality Director located in France.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and develop a team of Quality Technicians/Inspectors supporting Tolland operations.
  • Create a culture of trust, communication, and ownership.
  • Train team members on inspection processes, quality tools, Lectra standards, and safety requirements.
  • Manage scheduling, daily assignments, performance feedback, and development plans.

Quality Control & Assurance (Tolland Focus):

  • Oversee incoming inspection of parts and components.
  • Manage in-process and final inspections for equipment assembly and refurbishments.
  • Ensure documentation of defects, deviations, and non-conformities through Lectra's MRB system.
  • Support quality requirements tied to Lectra's digital manufacturing and cutting-room solutions.
  • Verify compliance with internal standards and certifications.

Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving:

  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Drive improvements in scrap, rework, first-pass yield, and service readiness.
  • Use structured problem-solving tools and ensure actions are implemented.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Tolland Production, Repair Center, Customer Care, Engineering, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Support field-service teams with quality investigations.
  • Work with global Lectra Quality and R&D teams.
  • Participate in new process introductions and product lifecycle improvements.

Metrics & Reporting:

  • Track and report Tolland quality metrics.
  • Provide weekly and monthly summaries to leadership.
  • Identify trends and communicate risks or improvement opportunities.

Compliance & Standards:

  • Ensure alignment with Lectra's global Quality Management System.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Maintain accurate quality records.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5+ years in quality or operations.
  • Leadership or team-lead experience preferred.
  • Experience with inspection and evaluation of electromechanical systems .

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of quality tools (FMEA, SPC, CAPA, 8D, DMAIC).
  • Ability to provide leadership to local technicians .
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement tools,ie. Green Belt, Black Belt training.
  • Must be able to read Engineering Drawings. Exposure to GD&T a big Plus.

Work Environment:

  • Based at Lectra's Tolland, CT facility.
  • Presence in production, repair center, warehouse, and inspection areas.
