The Impact You'll MakeThe Quality Inspector is responsible for inspection at different stages of the production/assembly processes by utilizing gaging and measurement equipment. These observations may result in generation of non-conforming communications, documentation within established Quality records and the containment of that product. Support of process and product audits are also in scope within this position. This position reports to the associated Quality Manager.This is a 3rd Shift position, with work hours 10:00 pm to 6:00 am.What You'll Be DoingSupport inspections for incoming and in-process components and the maintenance of the associated recordsUtilization of gaging, tools and measuring equipment required for inspection supportSupport of Nonconforming AreaPerform audits of assembly lines and machining areas ensuring that Standard Works are being followedEvaluation of nonconforming product/materials and identification of nonconformanceAssist in coordination of nonconforming product to the proper controlled areaCompliance of all safety rules and maintenance of proper housekeeping using 5S techniquesCompliance to all Danfoss policies, procedures and instructions to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, attainment of business goals, and environmental well-beingPerform audit of products before they are shipped.What We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferredTwo (2) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge of handheld inspection tools, micrometers, calipers, thread gagesBasic understanding of engineering drawings including basic GD&TOne-year certificate from college or technical school preferredComputer skills specifically Microsoft Office and preferred SAPAdditional Requirements and SkillsAttendance: High expectations for timeliness and communication of absences for preapproval. Ability to work occasional overtimeSafety: Follows safety & housekeeping standards and procedures, uses appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), awareness and concern for the safety of othersQuality: Follows standard work procedures, self acknowledges and corrects mistakes, works to avoid errors and get it right the first timeProductivity: Ability to meet or exceed productivity goals, manages time wisely, stays on task requiring little supervision to get the job done, and proactively seeks out projects to enhance productivityTeamwork: respects others, shares information, gives & receives feedback, works interdependently with co-workers to accomplish team goals. Works with others to resolve conflicts and promote positive work environment

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Employees frequently is required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch, as well as lift large components up to 35 lbs. in a safe manner. *While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is at a level the company requires hearing protection. The employee must be physically able to wear appropriate PPE.Attendance: High expectations for timeliness and communication of absences for preapproval.
