Quality Lead Specialist

Location: Dayton, OH

Summary:

The Quality Lead Specialist is responsible for overseeing daily quality operations, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role focuses on mentoring quality personnel, coordinating & conducting audits, and maintaining product and process integrity. The role will expand key focus areas for the site such as data accuracy and raw material/Supplier focus and help to build the framework necessary to execute in these areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide quality team members in executing quality control and assurance activities.
  • Manage the internal auditing program to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and other applicable standards including conducting audits, defining & managing the schedule and follow up on closure of findings.
  • Monitor quality metrics, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions to address non-conformances.
  • Analyze data and identify trends for areas of improvement and recommend solutions.
  • Support & trigger investigations for internal and external complaints using root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Why, FMEA).
  • Conduct training sessions on quality procedures and standards for employees.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to align quality objectives and resolve issues.
  • Support training programs for quality procedures and standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to meet KPIs and enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management or related field.
  • Experience in quality supervision or leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards and auditing practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality tools (SPC, Lean, Six Sigma).

Preferred:

  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification.

  • Experience with document control systems and quality improvement methodologies.

  • Experience with raw material improvements.

  • Laboratory Information Management System (LIM) system development.

  • Analytical Software experience.

  • Experience with Polymers, Monomers & Solvents
