Job Description

SUMMARY: 

Under minimal direction, performs inspection of purchased parts, sub-assemblies, manufactured parts, finished goods, and selected first articles within the processes of receiving, in-process, and final inspections, as well as stock audits.  The inspection criteria will be based on engineering blueprints and standards, applicable specifications, and departmental procedures to ensure the quality of the product.  The inspection process involves documenting findings and coordinating with internal customers to identify product and system non-conformities, working together towards both immediate and long-term resolutions.

Job Responsibilities: (include the following: other duties may be assigned)

  • Performs inspection using dimensional, functional, and visual attributes as required or specified.
  • Perform inspections of samples from new and modified tooling, as well as inspections and identification of metals, plastics, finishes, and plating.
  • Performs calibration, inspection, and maintenance of Boundary Boards, Production gages, and equipment, as well as ensuring conformance to specifications described.
  • Creates P.O.s for tools and equipment that require an outside resource for calibration and documenting/saving certs into our system.
  • Other activities may include:
    • Product or process studies support
    • Internal filing and processing of inspection documentation and records.
    • The movement of parts and paperwork to other areas.
    • Work on team projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Performs and supports in QA/QC inspections, audits, and production line investigations related, but not limited to, suspect item non-conformances and troubleshooting with the support of drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
  • Understands the Four-Level Defect Grading System and consistently achieves product quality goals and standards.
  • Works closely with department supervisors, quality assurance/support, and other co-workers to effectively solve problems, correct, rectify, and prevent Category 1 and 2 quality defects and errors.
  • This role requires support in a Task Force team for new product development, plays a key role as a QA representative, and functions within those processes.
  • Effective communication and coordination with the lead person/supervisor and peers is necessary, and the person will directly report to the QA Supervisor.
  • All duties and responsibilities must be completed with a high level of accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Assignments, instructions, and directions will be given by the lead person as well as the supervisor or manager

  • Two years’ related experience and/or training.
  • Should be familiar with basic manufacturing processes.
  • Must have intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • General knowledge in the use of standard inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, plug and ring gauges, gauge blocks, dial indicators, surface plate, profilometer, and video measuring system.

Schedule of Operations:

  • Monday – Friday (Mandatory OT as needed)
  • 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

Salary Range: $23.00 - $26.00
