Job Title: Quality Technician III (NPI / Engineering Support)
Location: West Columbia, SCShift: 1st Shift Pay Rate: $23.50/hourJob Type: Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview:
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Quality Technician III to support a high-impact AWS project within a manufacturing environment. This role will work closely with Quality Engineers during the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase, helping build quality processes from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude, experience in manufacturing, and the ability to develop clear, effective work instructions while thinking proactively about potential risks and process improvements.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term growth potential into engineering-level roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner directly with Quality Engineers to support NPI initiatives and production readiness
- Develop, write, and maintain detailed work instructions from scratch
- Analyze processes and identify potential failure points (PFMEA mindset – “what could go wrong”)
- Assist in creation and support of quality documentation including control plans, PPAPs, and MDIs
- Train auditors and production personnel on work instructions and quality standards
- Perform inspections and ensure adherence to established work instructions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve processes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and help drive standardization across operations
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with quality standards
Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
- Prior experience in a Quality Technician or similar role
- Experience creating or working with work instructions and quality documentation
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to think critically and proactively identify process risks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with NPI processes is highly preferred
- Familiarity with PFMEA, PPAP, and quality systems is a plus
- Critical power experience is a plus (not required)
