Join a vibrant manufacturing company in Gorham, Maine, as a Quality Technician and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of product excellence. This full-time position offers hands-on experience in a collaborative environment, with comprehensive training provided to help you succeed. As a Quality Technician, you'll support the quality assurance processes by performing inspections, documenting results, and assisting with troubleshooting quality issues. Youll work closely with the quality control team and cross-train with sales, fulfillment, and production departments to broaden your understanding of the company's products and processes, all while making a tangible impact on quality and efficiency.What You'll Do As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Gaining proficiency in inspection and quality control procedures used by the department.*
- Performing mechanical, physical, and visual inspections of tools to ensure they meet specified requirements.*
- Understanding and interpreting tool dimensions and specifications in relation to engineering prints.*
- Identifying manufacturing defects and accurately documenting these issues through production return forms.*
- Assisting the Technical Sales Department in troubleshooting customer quality concerns and fulfilling special requests.*
- Helping the Inspection Department Manager with data collection and non-conformance reporting.*
- Contributing ideas aimed at improving efficiency, accuracy, and speed in processes.*
- Cross-training with sales, fulfillment, and manufacturing teams to enhance your overall knowledge of products and workflows.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.*
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.*
- The ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings (preferred).*
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) fundamentals (desired).*
- Prior experience with use and calibration of metrology tools (preferred).*
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office and Outlook applications.*
- Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
