Job Overview
The objective of the QC Technician is to ensure timely, accurate, and proper documentation of the Quality Control Program in support of production. The Quality Control Technician will monitor the quality of incoming and outgoing products and materials, inspecting, analyzing measurements of critical components, conducting performance testing, and recording all findings. Understanding the manufacturing process and our products and having the aptitude to recommend enhancements to quality and performance, with the focus of increasing customer satisfaction, are key success factors in this role.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and repetitive inspection procedures to ensure quality levels at various stages of production.
- Inspect in-process and/or finished production assemblies and sub-assemblies for conformance to quality assurance standards.
- Read and follow visual instructions, engineering change notices, or established operating procedures, determine acceptance or rejection of product.
- Work under close supervision of the Quality Manager.
- Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
- Inspection of production components
- Sub and Final Assembly Product Inspection
- Follow quality assurance policies and procedures and reporting required changes
- Record and determine if product or production is in tolerance and take corrective actions
- Work on production floor issues and resolve in a timely fashion
- Perform receiving, in-process and final inspection of assembled units
- Develop inspection criteria
- Perform product layout inspections without assistance
- Instruct plant personnel in proper inspection techniques and procedures
- Audit paperwork. Compile and maintain master log of history records
- Maintain gauges, measuring and test devices
- Adjust and prioritize work to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Work with Plant personnel daily to resolve quality issues
- Inspect production components for daily production
- Log/track nonconformities and create CARs for incoming components
- Log/track misc. issues related to daily production (fixtures, components, material)
- Cross training of QC Techs in other departments/areas
