Following a major DoD contract award for the APX-128 advanced IFF system, we are growing our quality team. We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to support incoming inspection, in-process inspection, final acceptance, and quality system compliance on the production floor. This is a full-time, on-site role reporting to the Quality Manager.

  • Perform counterfeit parts inspection and verification per AS6081; confirm certificate of conformance (CoC) documentation and traceability for suspect or high-risk components.
  • Support first article inspection (FAI) activities; verify dimensional, material, and functional requirements against design documentation.
Nonconformance & Corrective Action
  • Initiate, document, and track nonconformance reports (NCRs) and material review board (MRB) dispositions; ensure nonconforming material is properly identified, segregated, and controlled per internal procedures.
  • Support supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) by gathering objective evidence, documenting findings, and tracking closure in coordination with Supply Chain and Engineering.
  • Participate in root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations; apply structured problem-solving methods (5-Why, fishbone) to identify escape mechanisms and prevent recurrence.
Quality System & Documentation
  • Complete inspection travelers to document product acceptance
  • Ensure quality records are complete, accurate, and performed in a timely fashion in compliance with Sagetech’s AS9100D quality system; maintain full product traceability from receiving through shipment.
  • Support internal, customer, and certification body audits; DCMA/customer source inspection activities; assist in preparation of objective evidence packages and corrective action responses.
  • Handle controlled hardware and technical data in accordance with ITAR/EAR requirements; maintain proper custody and control of age-sensitive and shelf-life materials.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 3+ years of quality inspection or quality technician experience in an electronics or electromechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with dimensional measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, go/no-go gauges) and visual inspection to IPC-A-610 workmanship standards.
  • Working knowledge of nonconformance control, MRB disposition, and corrective action processes in an AS9100D or ISO 9001 environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and work instructions; meticulous attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
