Quality Technician

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

We are seeking an experienced Quality Technician to join our Quality team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This hands-on role is responsible for helping ensure products consistently meet established quality, regulatory, and customer requirements throughout the manufacturing process.

The Quality Technician will perform and oversee product inspections and testing, monitor manufacturing processes, support root cause investigations, maintain quality documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. What You’ll Do

  • Perform and oversee routine and advanced inspections of incoming materials, in-process products, and finished vented liner products.
  • Conduct physical, mechanical, and visual product testing.
  • Review and validate test results against established specifications and customer requirements.
  • Maintain calibration and verification of laboratory and inspection equipment.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and identify deviations that may affect product quality.
  • Support statistical process control (SPC) activities and analyze quality trends.
  • Partner with Production to improve process capability and reduce variation.
  • Conduct line audits and process compliance assessments.
  • Investigate product defects, process deviations, and customer complaints.
  • Participate in or coordinate root cause investigations using structured problem-solving tools, including 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, and 8D.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and laboratory documentation.
  • Support compliance with applicable quality systems, standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Support internal, customer, and certification audits.
  • Assist with document control, including work instructions, specifications, and inspection procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product quality, testing methods, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Support scrap reduction, yield improvement, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Track and report key quality performance indicators.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as needed.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years of quality experience involving quality inspections, process controls, and continuous improvement in an ISO 9001 and/or regulated quality environment.
  • Experience performing product inspections and testing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing process controls and quality monitoring.
  • Experience investigating product defects and supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Experience supporting customer complaint investigations.
  • Strong data collection, analysis, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Production, Quality, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach to problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • SAP
  • ISO 9001
  • BRCGS
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • 8D and other structured problem-solving methodologies

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will help ensure quality throughout the entire manufacturing process—from receiving and production through final shipment. You will play an important role in collecting and analyzing quality data, maintaining accurate records, supporting customer complaint resolution, solving manufacturing quality issues, and identifying opportunities to continuously improve product and process performance.
