Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Oncology/Cancer Services Director and VP of Diagnostic Imaging, manages IP and OP operations of Radiation Oncology. Directs and supervises the support services needed by the Radiation therapists, dosimetrists, and physicians.
The Imaging Manager for Radiation Oncology has responsibility for both the BEH and East Campus Radiation Oncology Departments which include therapy, CT SIM, and Rad Oncology Clinics. This includes accountability for the quality of patient care, the performance of the technical staff, the management of the budget, and the orientation, education, and development of the staff. Functions as a staff therapist as needed. Under the direction of the Medical Director, performs clinical duties as appropriate. This position requires independent judgment and initiative in utilization of radiation therapy equipment to deliver appropriate dose to each individual patient. Excellent communication and rapport with physicians required.
Education:
Required:
- A graduate of an ARRT approved radiologic technology program - Reference: https://www.arrt.org/Education/
- BS in Business Administration or other related field in clinical radiology, radiation oncology, or other healthcare related field.

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
- ARRT (T) registered
- BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward

- CT Certification
Experience:
Required:
- Five years hospital experience in Radiation Therapy
- At least three years supervisory experience
- Proven progressive leadership
Preferred:
- Level 1 Trauma, Academic Medical Center
Department Position Summary:
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive care appropriate to the age of the patients seen in the Radiation Oncology Departments. The employee must set goals and objectives suitable for both pediatric and adult settings, to meet nationally accredited standards of ACR and DNV. The employee must hold accountable the staff he/she supervises to the highest patient care standards of Erlanger Health System. This position directly reports to the Oncology Services Director for all matters concerning radiation therapy and related patient clinics. Manager functions as a staff therapist, as needed or as directed.
The Imaging Manager has responsibility for Erlanger Radiation Oncology that sees both OP and Inpatients, which includes accountability for the quality of patient care, the performance of the technical staff, management of the budget, and the orientation, education, and development of the staff. Further, contributes to Radiation Therapy and the Medical Center through support of philosophy and objectives and education efforts.
- Responsible for coordination and integration of inter-and intra-departmental functions with Erlanger BEH campus and East.
- Responsible for determining quantity and competency of staffing for Radiation Oncology
- Responsible for overseeing ACR accreditation where applicable
- Continuous assessment for DNV inspection and accreditation
- Installation and monitoring of QA as necessary
- Conducts staff meetings
- Responsible for HR functions such as interviewing, hiring, discipline, etc.
- Develops equipment purchasing guidelines for all treatment areas as required.
- Coordinates purchased service bids and recommends vendors.
- Recommendations for facilities equipment and staffing as required.
- Assists with budget creation, maintains budgets, works within budget constraints
- Project management and capital equipment evaluation
- Participates in development of proformas, needs assessments, and strategic planning
- Participates in hospital events, i.e., Telethons, United Way, etc. as required.
- Performs clinical duties as appropriate, requiring independent judgment and initiative in utilization of radiology equipment to create high quality images.
