Location(s): Portland, OR (on-site) | VA Portland Health Care System

Position Details:
- Full benefit program, including: health, PTO, and 401k + contribution
- Rotating weekends and Holiday shifts may be required, and hour will vary.
- Overtime, On-Call, and Call Back duty for this position may be required on occasion and in emergent situations.
- Minimum assignment: 2 days (16 hours) with potential for longer assignments based on VA needs
- Shifts may be 8, 9, or 10 hours, with typical schedules including:
- 8-hour shifts, five days per week
- 9-hour shifts, rotating four- or five-day weeks
- 10-hour shifts, typically four-day weeks

Requirements:
- Certified as Diagnostic Radiologic Technologists by the American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- CurrentBasicCardiacLifeSupport(BCLS) certification.
- Two years' experience inthe operation of diagnostic radiology equipmenttoproduceradiographic studies/images used in medical diagnosis and treatment.
Summary:
CICONIX is seeking a Radiology (X-Ray) Technologist with experience inthe operation of diagnostic radiology equipmenttoproduceradiographic studies/images used in medical diagnosis and treatment to support the VA Portland Health Care System in Portland, OR.

About the Role:
- Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Protects patient, self, andother staff from radiation hazards.Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, which involves setting upand operating radiographic equipment usedinthe medical diagnosis and/ortreatment ofpatientsandincludes implementing infectioncontrolprocedures forthework area.
- Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis.Adjusts/sets radiographic controls. Positions patients andtakes X-rays of specific parts of the patient's body asrequested by physicians.Check X-rays for clarity of image, retaking when needed.
- Set upand adjust accessory equipment asrequired.
- Make exposures necessary for the required procedures.
- Takefilms/images todaylightprocessorforprocessing.
- Edit film/images for quality of images and input data into the system.
- Maintains records ofpatients treated, examinations performed, views, images taken, and settings used.
- Performs routine examinations under the technical and professional direction of a Radiologist when required.
- Check to ensure equipment is working; notifies the physician and/or technical supervisor of any equipment problems.
- Sets up x-ray room, assuring that supplies and equipment are available and assures that infection control standards are followed.

Qualifications:
- Education:
- Successful completion of anaccredited educational training program inwhich technologists are certified as Diagnostic Radiologic Technologists by the American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (ARRT) andmustbecertifiedfortheirspecialty.
- Licensure & Certifications (Current & Unrestricted):
- CurrentBasicCardiacLifeSupport(BCLS) certification.
- Experience:
- Two years' experience inthe operation of diagnostic radiology equipment under the direction ofaRadiologist orothermedical officertoproduceradiographic studies/images used in medical diagnosis and treatment.
- MusthaveworkedwithinahospitallabsettingasanX-RayTech inthelastsix months.
- Provideevidence ofcurrentprofessionalliabilityinsurance.
- Beavailabletowork fortheVAatleastsix(6)monthsafterstarting date.
- Security & Background Check:
- U.S. Citizenship and a successful background investigation are required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to comply with the government vaccination requirements, reflected of CDC guidelines, for diseases including Hepatitis B, influenza, and proof of a negative PPD test.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift supplies or materials (15-100 pounds) as required.
- Manual dexterity for handling equipment and performing imaging procedures.
