Are you a certified X-Ray Technologist dedicated to providing exceptional diagnostic imaging services? Do you want to support veterans with precision radiography that aids in accurate diagnoses and effective treatment? If so, this opportunity is for you.We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team supporting the VA healthcare system. You'll play a vital role in patient care by producing high-quality radiographic images that physicians rely on for medical decision-making.This position offers the opportunity to work with diverse imaging equipment while making a meaningful impact on veterans' health and well-being.

What You'll Do

  • Operate diagnostic radiology equipment to produce high-quality radiographic images under the direction of radiologists and medical officers
  • Position patients correctly and ensure proper technique for optimal image quality while maintaining patient safety
  • Follow established protocols and safety procedures, including radiation safety standards
  • Maintain and monitor radiographic equipment to ensure proper functioning and calibration
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare teams to support accurate diagnoses
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed

Required Qualifications

  • Successful completion of an accredited educational training program in which technologists are certified as Diagnostic Radiologic Technologists by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with a certification in your specialty
  • Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Two (2) years' experience in the operation of diagnostic radiology equipment under the direction of a Radiologist or other medical officer to produce radiographic studies/images used in medical diagnosis and treatment
  • Must have worked within a hospital lab setting as an X-Ray Tech in the last six (6) months
  • Current professional liability insurance (evidence required)
  • Must be available to work for the VA at least six (6) months after starting date
