- Pay Rate: $77.00 / Hour (USD)
- Shift / Schedule: Thursday Saturday, 6:30 AM 7:00 PM (3x12 Hours, Day Shift)
- Travel Requirements: Float requirement floating to NHRMC and NHRMC Ortho as needed

Job Summary
This is a travel/contract MRI Tech position in the Radiology / Cardiology specialty at a healthcare facility in Wilmington, NC. The role operates on a blocked scheduling type and requires availability across a range of MRI imaging modalities, anatomical regions, and specialized techniques. Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur and contract staff may be pre-assigned to units as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MRI imaging across adult acute care, adult ICU, adult outpatient, and ER/trauma settings
- Execute MRI studies across a broad range of anatomical regions including abdomen, female pelvis, male pelvis, breast, chest, brain, cranial nerves, face/soft tissue neck, orbits, foot, hand, hip/bony pelvis, knee, lower extremity long bones, shoulder, upper extremity long bones, cervical, lumbar, sacrum/coccyx, thoracic, and spinal trauma
- Perform advanced MRI sequences including Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP), MR Aortogram, Head Magnetic Resonance Angiogram (MRA), Head Magnetic Resonance Venography (MRV), and Neck Magnetic Resonance Venography (MRV)
- Apply Diffusion (non-brain), Gradient Echo Imaging, Spin Echo Images, T-1 Weighted Images, T-2 Weighted Images, and Surface Coils techniques
- Perform image post-processing including Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) mapping and subtraction, Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP), and Multiplanar Reconstruction (MPR)
- Adhere to Isolation Precautions/PPE protocols
- Prepare and/or administer contrast media
- Start peripheral IVs as required
- Operate PACS, Siemens MRI equipment, and EPIC documentation system
- Float to NHRMC and NHRMC Ortho as needed
- Report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters as part of Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments

- Minimum 2 years of MRI Tech experience required
- First-time traveler experience not required; locals accepted
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Shift schedule: Thursday Saturday, 6:30 AM 7:00 PM (3x12 Hours, blocked scheduling)
- No call requirement
- Float requirement: floating to NHRMC and NHRMC Ortho as needed
- Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster
- Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur; contract staff may be pre-assigned to units as needed
- Scrub color: royal blue
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Special equipment: Siemens MRI, PACS
- Unit systems: EPIC (documentation, medication, communication)
Important Notes
- RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in a contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
- The expected start date is based on the facility's schedule but is subject to change depending on class and trainer availability. Travelers may start on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week, and must be fully available with no other commitments to accommodate any schedule changes. Missing any portion of orientation may result in a delayed or canceled start.
- The facility will confirm the final start date on the Tuesday prior to the start week.
- Unit orientation: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM; Hospital orientation during week one traveler must be available for classes each day; 12 hours of unit orientation required.
