Contract Details
- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 3 months
- Pay Rate: $55.00 / Hour (USD)
- Shift / Schedule: 0830 1700, Monday Friday (blocked); rotating nights on-call; every 3rd weekend

Job Summary
This is a Nuclear Medicine Tech travel/contract position within the Radiology / Cardiology specialty at an on-site hospital facility in Wilmington, NC. The role operates within Adult, Clinic, Hospital, Nuclear Cardiology, and Pediatrics work settings and requires a minimum of five years of experience. First-time travelers are not accepted for this unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform procedures including Gastric Emptying, HIDA Scan, and Muga Scan
- Conduct Bone Scans: 3 Phase, Limited, and Whole Body
- Perform Brain Scans including Cerebral Blood Flow studies
- Conduct Liver/Spleen Scans: Liver Imaging and Liver Scan-Hemangioma
- Perform Lung Scans: DTPA Aerosol, Perfusion, and Ventilation/Perfusion
- Perform Renal Flow studies: Flow/Function, Renal/Perfusion, Three Phase, and With Lasix
- Conduct Shunt studies: Abdominal and Ventricular
- Perform Thyroid Studies: Cancer Survey, I-123 Uptake Scan, and Uptake Scan
- Perform Tumor Localization studies: Limited and Whole Body
- Conduct SPECT (Single-Photon Emission CT): Bone, Brain, Liver, Renal, and Sestamibi parathyroid scan
- Perform Myocardial studies: Adenosine Infusion, Exercise/Rest-Multiple, and Pharmacological Stress
- Draw venous blood and start/maintain IVs as required
- Follow Isolation Precautions/PPE protocols
- Handle storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials
- Operate Siemens equipment
- Document using EPIC and manage medications/supplies through Pyxis
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:4
- Participate in rotating nights on-call and every 3rd weekend requirement
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Prior traveler experience required (unit does not accept first-time travelers)
- Proficiency with Siemens equipment
- Experience across Adult, Clinic, Hospital, Nuclear Cardiology, and Pediatrics work settings
- Proficiency in drawing venous blood
- Knowledge and application of Isolation Precautions/PPE
- Ability to start and maintain IVs
- Knowledge of storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials
- Proficiency with EPIC (documentation) and Pyxis (medication management)

Education Requirements
- ARRT (N) Nuclear Medicine Radiology certification required
- CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) certification required
- Flu vaccination required (Medical/Religious exemptions only)

- Work settings include Adult, Clinic, Hospital, Nuclear Cardiology, and Pediatrics environments
- Rotating nights on-call required
- Every 3rd weekend required
