Job Description
Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Greenville, South Carolina
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift – 5x8 hours (07:00 AM – 3:30 PM) with on-call (1 night/week and every 7th weekend)
Job Responsibilities and Required/Preferred Skills:
The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for assisting physicians in minimally invasive, image-guided procedures while ensuring patient safety and maintaining sterile technique. Duties include preparing patients and access sites, functioning as a room circulator, and scrubbing in to maintain a sterile field during procedures. The role also involves operating and maintaining imaging equipment, managing inventory, and stocking supplies.
Candidates must have experience in interventional radiology and special procedures, including vascular, abdominal, and genitourinary interventions such as angiography, angioplasty, embolization, stent placement, thrombolysis, biopsies, catheter placements, and venous access procedures. Knowledge of 3D imaging and familiarity with equipment such as Siemens and Philips systems is preferred.
Responsibilities also include handling PACS systems, ensuring proper infection control practices, and supporting procedures like TIPS, EVAR/TEVAR, central line placements, and dialysis interventions.
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience
ARRT (R) certification
BLS and ACLS certification
Active South Carolina Radiology license
Experience with EPIC documentation system (minimum 1 year)
Strong knowledge of sterile technique and procedural workflows
Additional Expectations:
Ability to float to other units as needed
Participation in on-call rotation
Experience in hybrid OR and special procedures preferred
Strong teamwork and communication skills in a multidisciplinary environment
