Pediatric Radiologist - Academic Faculty, Open Rank | Department of Radiology | Division of Pediatric Radiology

Position Summary:

The Division of Pediatric Radiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Children’s Wisconsin (CW), seeks a board certified / board eligible physician to join our expandingDivision. This position is located in Milwaukee, WI at the Children's Wisconsin hospital campus. We are comprised of nationally and internationally renowned, dedicated group of faculty and staff with a strong commitment to clinical care. 

Position Highlights:

  • Join a collaborative team of pediatric radiologists, APPs & imaging specialists that handle over 150,000 diagnostic and interventional radiology exams annually across all modalities.

  • Thrive in a 100% pediatric radiology environmen with protected academic/administrative time (1-2 days/week, dependent on role). Research infrastructure and opportunities are available for those interested.

  • Experience flexibility with at-home workstations, as well as opportunities for moonlighting.

  • Teach and mentor medical students, radiology residents, radiology fellows, pediatric residents and subspecialty fellows.

  • Explore opportunities to pursue subspeciality interests including neuroradiology, musculoskeletal, interventional, fetal, cardiac, and nuclear imaging; ideal for fellows, early-career, or experienced radiologists seeking a supportive and collegial team environment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Chair or Chair-Designate. 

Schedule:

  • Full-Time role with expected coverage during core business hours, and shared call.

  • Flexibility needed to meet changing business needs.

The Pediatric Radiology Division at MCW offers an unparalleled opportunity to shape the future of pediatric imaging while enjoying a rewarding, balanced career. Our team provides professional interpretive services at the CW Hospital and it's five dedicated pediatric outpatient, multi-modality affiliated imaging centers. These centers support care closer to home, ensuring that children and families can access specialized pediatric radiology services within their local communities, regardless of geographic location. In addition, the section delivers pediatric radiology interpretations for all patients under 18 years of age at 18 community hospitals and imaging centers, in partnership with the expanding MCW Department of Radiology and Froedtert ThedaCare Health System.

Candidates with subspecialized training, experience, or interests are encouraged to explore opportunities within the Pediatric Radiology Section, which is closely integrated with the Department of Radiology’s adult practice at MCW. Those seeking additional subspecialized training while advancing their careers are also welcome to inquire. Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.

  • Fellowship training in pedaitric radiology

  • Board certification or eligibility with CAQ in pediatric radiology

  • Unrestricted State medical licensure, or eligibility to obtain license, in the state of Wisconsin.

  • Rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful finalist.

Children’s Wisconsin and Children’s Specialty Group

Children’s Wisconsin is an independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. The hospital, with locations in Milwaukee and Northeast Wisconsin, is recognized as one of the leading pediatric health care centers in the United States. Children’s Wisconsin provides primary care, urgent care, emergency care, specialty care, mental and behavioral health services, community health services, foster and adoption services, child advocacy services and health insurance plans. Each year, the Children’s Wisconsin team has more than 6.5 million touchpoints with kids and families through medical care, advocacy, research and education. In Northeast Wisconsin, Children’s Wisconsin is expanding its services to provide increased access to outstanding pediatric subspecialty care. This includes a pediatric hospital, with a Pediatric Unit, Level III NICU and Infusion Center, which is located at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah, WI. A multispecialty pediatric ambulatory clinic with on-site laboratory and radiology services opened in Appleton, Wis. in 2023.

Children’s and its joint venture with the Medical College of Wisconsin – the Children’s Specialty Group (CSG) - are the largest providers of pediatric healthcare in the state, serving the children and families of Wisconsin with the highest level of care through their American College of Surgeons Level I Children’s Surgery Verification Center, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence, 72-bed Level IV NICU, Level IV Epilepsy Center, and a 72-bed PICU. In 2021-2022, CW and CSG had six specialties ranked by US News & World Report: cancer; cardiology and heart surgery; gastroenterology and GI surgery; neurology and neurosurgery; orthopedics; and pulmonology.  With over 70 specialties and 675 providers, CSG providers had 220,000 outpatient visits at 13 regional care sites, 67,000 emergency department/trauma center visits, and over 9,000 admissions.
