Pay rate ranges from $62.51 to $66.98 based on experience. Short Description:Friday, Saturday, Sunday (36 or 40hrs/week), on call, callback and holidays per unit needs
Please note, must be able to report within 30 minutes to on call shifts
ON CALL: 2-3 call shifts per month
Complete Description:X-Ray Technologist Responsibilities:
Verifyingpatients' identity and reviewing physicians orders before beginning x-rayprocedures.
Using x-rayequipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organsas per physicians written orders
Explaining x-rayprocedures to patients and answering their questions.
Positioningpatients accordingly, which may include lifting and moving patients withlimited mobility.
Handles allradiologic equipment safely and properly keeping dose to patient as low aspossible.
Observe eachpatient s status and interprets the appropriate information needed to meet hisor her age-specific needs.
Produces adiagnostic, high quality image for interpretation by the Radiologist.
Promptly notifyingmanagement of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
Utilizes electronic patientinformation systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and anyspecial exam specific comments from the provider. Understands and practices theDual patient identifier procedure.
Maintainsaccurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and assuringimages are sent to the PACS system correctly.
X-Ray TechnologistRequirements:
Completion offormal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and maintainsCertification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
NYS license (or ableto obtain license prior to starting)
2 years of X-rayTechnologist experience
Level 1 traumacenter experience
Ability to move orlift patients.
Ability to standfor extended periods.
Excellentanalytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective writtenand verbal communication skills.
A patient andcompassionate disposition.
Team player whocan maintain a cohesive working environment.
Ability to report within 30 minutes to on call shift.
REQUIREMENTS:BLSExperience using c-arm/o-arm in the past 8 months
Must have recent OR experience
