Pay rate ranges from $30 to $31 based on experience. Job Description: Radiology Technician Operating Room Position Title: Radiology Technician Operating Room Reports To: OR Nurse Manager and Director of Radiology Schedule: Every Monday Position Summary: The Radiology Technician (Operating Room) is responsible for providing high-quality intraoperative imaging services to support surgeons and clinical staff during surgical and interventional procedures. This position requires advanced technical skills, strict adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced operating room environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operates C-arm, fluoroscopy, and other radiographic equipment during surgical and interventional procedures. Positions and shields patients appropriately to obtain optimal images while ensuring safety. Assists surgical staff in maintaining the sterile field and follows all infection control standards. Monitors image quality and adjusts technical factors to meet surgical requirements. Documents, stores, and retrieves images within the hospitals PACS system. Performs daily equipment checks, routine maintenance, and promptly reports malfunctions. Provides education and support to surgical staff regarding safe and effective imaging practices Ensures compliance with all state, federal, and hospital radiation safety policies. Participates in on-call rotation, evening, weekend, and emergency surgical coverage as required. Qualifications: Associates degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology (required). ARRT certification (required). State Radiologic Technologist license (as required by state law). 12 years of clinical radiology experience (operating room or interventional radiology preferred). Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, OR protocols, and patient safety practices. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods in the operating room environment. Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. and assist with patient positioning. Ability to wear protective lead aprons and other radiation safety equipment for extended periods. Work Environment: Operating room setting with exposure to radiation, surgical procedures, and critical patient care. Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility, adaptability, and calm under pressure.
