Radiology Special Procedures Tech

The Special Procedures Tech operates radiologic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic X-Rays as prescribed by physicians and performs routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.

This is a full-time position primarily based at our Eagan Campus. Must be flexible to float to other Summit locations as needed: Plymouth, Woodbury, Vadnais Heights and Minnetonka Campuses. 10 hour shifts, Monday - Thursday with a schedule of 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM (subject to change). Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology with current ARRT registration.

• Prepares rooms and patients, specific to the exam to be performed.
• Properly sets up equipment, trays, supplies, positions patients, and determines proper exposure factors in order to produce high quality images.
• Handles all radiologic equipment safely and properly, keeping dose to patient as low as possible.
• Maintains appropriate supplies in the procedure rooms. Uses an established work pattern to work efficiently and safely within the special procedures setting.
• Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Positions patients and takes X-Rays of specific parts of the body as requested by the physician.
• Maintains daily log books, and monthly reports as requested/required.
• Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
• Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining equipment repairs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Summit's hiring range for this position is $39.45 to $49.31 per hour The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials and/or deferred compensation.
