Radiology Student Aide - Work Study Home

Eligibility: This position is only open to current students of the Arnot School of Radiology and the Arnot School of Nursing.

Work Schedule Options

Option 1:

• Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM

• Every other weekend: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Option 2:

• Mondays and Thursdays: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM

• Every other weekend: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

The Radiology Student Aide works as part of the Radiology Department team, assisting technologists and supporting patient care and departmental operations. This role provides hands-on experience in a clinical setting while helping to ensure a safe, efficient, and professional environment for patients and staff. The Radiology Student Aide reports to the Director of Radiology or their designee.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Radiologic Technologists with patient care tasks and departmental workflow

• Transport patients safely and efficiently within the hospital

• Prepare and clean procedure and exam rooms between patients

• Stock, organize, and maintain supplies and linens

• Assist with documentation in the Epic electronic medical record system and PACS

• Support coordination of patient flow, including preparing patients for exams

• Answer telephones and direct calls professionally and courteously

• Perform clerical duties such as documenting exams and scheduling support

• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and patient-centered care

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in the Arnot School of Radiology or Arnot School of Nursing (required)

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

• Experience with computers and Windows applications

• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills

• Hospital or healthcare experience desirable

Physical Demands

• Standing and walking for extended periods (over 90% of the time)

• Bending, stooping, and reaching

• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. and assisting in moving patients

• Pushing beds, stretchers, and equipment as needed
