JOB DESCRIPTIONRadiology TechAbout Facility:o How many licensed beds? CMC 874o Level I Trauma; Level 1 Pediatric Traumao Teaching Hospitalo Chest Pain Centero Stroke CenterDepartment Information:o Average patients/day? 350-400o How many X-ray suites?OR: 40 ORs w/ 12 C-arms and 2 O-arms availableMain Level (4th floor): 2 x-ray rooms, 3 fluoro roomsED: 2 rooms15 Portableso Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years of acute care experience. Need some trauma level experience (Level I, II, or III)o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, if they have they trauma facility experiencePatient Types/Common Diagnoses:o Adults and Pediatrics (including neonates) from ED, ICUs, nursing units and outpatients across the full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnosiso This is a teaching facility, so will see high acuity patients and situationso Will rotate shift-by-shift for area stationed (ED, OR, Main)Required License, National Certification, Certs:o BLSo ARRT-RSkills required:o General X-ray: imaging of head, neck, spine, extremities, abdomen, hands, feet, chest. Must be comfortable with trauma patients. Portables at bedsideo OR: spinal, ortho, general surgery, neuro, and peds. Need to be comfortable with the majority of these specialties.o C-arm experience required. O-arm experience preferred.o EPIC experience requiredo Soft Skills: Confident of their clinical skill sets with ability to work in a fast paced, high patient acuity environment. Good communication skills and attitude of helpfulness and teamwork strongly preferred. Depending on experience, could be asked to precept x-ray students.Support Available:o Lead Techo Supervisor 24/7 helps with staffingo Managero Will work with MD residents and fellowso Always other Rad Techs available:Days: 22Mids: 11Nights: 6Weekend Days: 12Weekend Nights: 6o RT 24/7o Rapid Response/Code Teamo Radiologists are always on siteo Transporter for the departmentTechnology/Equipment:o EMR: EPIC requiredo Department specific Equipment: Shimadzu RadSpeed general rad room, Konica and Shimadzu portables, Philips C-arm, Client O-armFloating: If yes, where?o No, only to the different areas of x-ray and for portables in this facilityOrientation (facility and unit):o NEO: Facility tour, departmental tour with introductions.o Up to 5 days max departmental orientation but flexible based on needs of travelerScheduling:o Weekend Rotations: No rotations between weekends and weekdays. Travelers would stay on days and shifts per the contract.o Call requirement: Noneo Holiday Expectations: If it is on normal scheduled day, will work ito Approval of RTO: Manager approvalo Shift times: Refer to requisition for shift/scheduleo Schedule cycle: Traveler contract are 13 weeks and travelers would work the same shift and times as agreed upon in the contract.Other notes:o Scrub Color: Black.
