Job Description

Harrison County Hospital is seeking to hire a Rad Tech/MA for After Hours Care.

Position available:  Part-time, Day/Evening, 24-32 hrs/wk, minimum 3 days/wk, plus additional as needed.

The radiology tech/medical assistant transports patients to the diagnostic imaging department in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort. Assists patients from wheelchair to the imaging table, helps patients to the bathroom, carries films, etc. Reasonable care taken when providing direct patient care with the knowledge that mistakes may have serious consequences for the patient. Develops films and performs related darkroom duties. Performs clerical duties, receives patient's information, enters patients into the radiology information system, and checks films in/out. Files and retrieves film folders. Familiar with general office equipment/patient transport devices. Assists in clinical area with intake and discharge along with noninvasive laboratory tests. Participates and supports all customer service goals and objectives. Performs all duties in accordance with the mission, objectives, and policies of Harrison County Hospital. Provides services to patients of all age groups, from birth to maturity, regardless of sex or national origin.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Previous medical experience preferred, but not required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist or Limited Radiologic Technician or Certified by the Indiana State Board of Health as a Radiographer or LMR
  • CPR Certified
  • Annual Fire/Safety Training
  • Annual PPD
  • Corporate Compliance
  • Fluent to read, write, and speak English

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with department manager, radiologist, physicians, their staff, patients, and their families
  • Knowledge of medical terminology helpful, but not required
