Job Description
Under the supervision of Radiology Director or Medical Staff,performs diagnostic radiographic procedures on patients. Cleans and maintainsequipment and prepares necessary reports and maintains records. OSHA BloodbornePathogens Class I.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:A. Education: High school graduate or equivalent and graduate of an accredited programof Radiologic Technology preferred.B. Personal job-related skills: Knowledge of radiologic equipment and effective oral andwritten communication skills.C. Licensure, registry or certification: A current Texas license (CMRT) is required orcurrent Texas state license practitioner.D. Experiencea. Prior Work Experience: One year as a registered technologist preferred.b. Technical Training: CPR training required. Training in the performance of/oradditional training to be able to perform the following is preferred: CT examswith Triple Contrast Utilization, Bone Density Testing, Fluoroscopic procedures,Mammography, Magnetic Resonace Imaging. Proficient use of dry imageprocessing systems, P.A.C.S., electrocardiograms, organizational skills of patientimages, reports processing and exam scheduling. Exam/diagnosis codingpreferred.E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require moderate standing,walking, twisting, reaching and handling of instruments and equipment. Occasionalheavy lifting is required, including lifting and supporting patients who may suddenlybecome weak or helpless.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:A. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision unless direct supervision isrequired.a. Ensures the correct procedure is being performed on the patient.b. Instructs and prepares patient for procedure and assures proper positioning.c. Properly identifies images with corresponding patient file.d. Transports patients to and from the department.e. Provides care appropriate for the neonate and the pediatric, adolescent andgeriatric patients served based on demonstrated knowledge of the principles ofgrowth and development over the life span.
