Make an impact in a fast-paced urgent care setting.
We're looking for a skilled Radiologic Technologist to deliver high-quality diagnostic x-ray exams while providing a calm, supportive patient experience. In this role, you'll perform radiology procedures according to established practice standards, ensuring excellent image quality, safety, and efficiency.
What You'll Do (Day to Day)
- Perform diagnostic x-ray procedures and protocols with strong technical proficiency, producing high-quality exams within appropriate timeframes.
- Verify patient identity, correct body part, and correct side prior to every procedure.
- Use PACS and accurately input/verify data in PACS/RADIANT; review images with Radiologists as needed for anatomic detail and areas of concern.
- Provide safe, compassionate care by obtaining relevant clinical history and explaining procedures to patients/families to reduce anxiety and promote cooperation.
- Recognize clinical and/or emergent concerns that may impact imaging and take appropriate action to support optimal outcomes.
- Respond to and follow up on critical test findings in alignment with policy.
- Review applicable lab values (ex: BUN, creatinine, pregnancy status, glucose) when required for patient safety and exam appropriateness.
- Maintain exam rooms and equipment in clean, safe, ready-to-use condition; perform daily checks and report hazards or malfunctions promptly.
- Support supply management: stock and maintain supplies at par levels; clean/disinfect equipment and maintain linen supplies.
- Participate in department quality control (QC) and performance improvement (PI) activities; follow up on deficiencies.
- Maintain sterile/aseptic technique when applicable; follow infection prevention standards including hand hygiene and body substance isolation.
- Wear and follow monitoring requirements for radiation safety (film badge) per departmental policy.
- Complete required documentation accurately and legibly; support routine clerical/ancillary tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- BLS (CPR) - American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider).
- ARRT Radiology Technician credential.
- Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (LSRTBE) registration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program and prior healthcare experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
