Railcar Switcher & Facilities Maintenance Technician - Riviera BeachMonday Friday | 8:00 AM 5:00 PM$25.00/hour

This position is responsible for performing railcar switching and supporting facility and infrastructure maintenance. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, technical proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in both active rail and maritime environments.
Essential Duties Rail Operations
Safely and efficiently perform railcar switching
Follow all railroad operating rules, safety standards, and established procedures
Inspect rail tracks and assist with maintenance as needed
Participate in locomotive operations training as assigned
Identify and report safety hazards, equipment deficiencies, and operational concerns
Essential Duties Facilities & Infrastructure Maintenance
Perform skilled maintenance and repairs on buildings, grounds, and infrastructure
Complete work related to construction, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general facility systems, as qualified
Assist with rail track maintenance as directed
Safely operate trucks, tractors, mowers, and other motorized equipment
Perform landscaping and grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, planting, irrigation repair, and general upkeep
Utilize hand and power tools in accordance with safety regulations
Perform general custodial and site upkeep duties as needed
Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and professionalism
Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of maintenance and repair experience (construction, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing experience strongly preferred)
Knowledge of railroad switching procedures and rail safety standards
Working knowledge of occupational safety rules related to hand and power tools
Ability to safely operate motorized equipment
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Capable of performing physically demanding work in varying weather conditions, including prolonged standing
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered
Contingent on a drug and background check
Additional Requirements
Must obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
Valid drivers license required and must be maintained
Position is safety-sensitive and subject to random drug and alcohol testing
Employees working over or near water will be provided U.S. Coast Guard-approved flotation devices
Must pass and maintain required hearing and vision exams for rail duties per safety standards
Ability to safely mount and dismount locomotives and rail equipment, including climbing vertical ladders and navigating uneven surfaces
Maintain physical fitness sufficient to safely perform essential job functions
Physical & Working Conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
Prolonged standing and walking required
Work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments
Exposure to varying weather conditions, operational noise, heavy equipment, rail activity, and maritime environments
