Job Description

The J.D. McCarty Center is looking for Behavior Technicians/Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) to join our Outpatient team in Norman, OK. The Behavior Technician/RBT will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to children with Autism. The Behavior Technician/RBT will collect data on programs and work closely with the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Salary:  $24.00/hr                                                                    Hours: Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m- 4:00 p.m

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of teaching and natural environment play.
  • Follow the client’s individualized treatment plan and behavior reduction protocols as determined by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Collect, record and summarize data on observable client behavior(s).
  • Effectively communication with parents and caregivers regarding the client’s progress as instructed by the BCBA.
  • Assist in preparing client materials as instructed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings provided by the J.D. McCarty Center.
  • Participate in team meetings and training workshops.
  • Ensure that the client is always in a safe and positive environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Have the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or previously had certification and be willing to obtain re-certification within 30-45 days of hire.
  • A minimum of 1-year experience working as a Registered Behavior Technician in an outpatient clinical or in-home setting.
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
  • Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by the code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
  • Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws.
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, sitting, standing) for extending periods of time.
  • Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in a Behavior Intervention Plan while working with children with challenging behavior.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a background and drug test.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
