Job SummarySylvan Learning of Bellevue is looking for a part-time Reading and Math Tutor to join our team. This individual contributor role will pay a competitive hourly wage of $16 to $19 per hour. The primary responsibility of the position is to provide one-on-one academic support to students in a personalized learning environment.Compensation & BenefitsOur Reading and Math Tutor position will offer a base hourly wage of $16 to $19 per hour, depending on availability and level of responsibilities. The position will also include an up to 35% discount on tutoring services. The best part about this position is you have the option to decide how much responsibility and how many hours you want to work. It's a flexible, fun and supportive environment with no late nights, early mornings or holiday shifts. Many of our full-time staff over the years have started out as instructors as well as many of the franchisees in the system! It's a great place to explore education opportunities outside the typical classroom!Responsibilities Facilitate a personalized learning program for each student Develop a rapport with our students to boost their academic confidence Coordinate and conduct student and parent reviews Keep accurate records of student progress Maintain a Goodwill Ambassador attitude at all times Advocate the Sylvan Learning philosophyRequirements Bachelor’s degree in a related subject, such as education, or a field of expertise, such as math or English is preferred but not required Previous teaching and/or tutoring experience with elementary, middle, or high school students is preferred but not requiredProven success in consulting and/or working with parents and students• Must have reliable transportation
