The ideal candidate will have experience with real estate contracts and both commercial and residential closings.Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on a broad range of real estate matters including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development, financing, and property management.
- Conduct in-depth title searches, review title commitments, and handle title defect curative matters.
- Prepare and negotiate complex real estate transaction documents.
- Conduct closings and ensure compliance with all contractual obligations.
- Advise clients on legal risks and implications related to real estate transactions.
- Represent clients in court or before government agencies, if necessary.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, changes in business practices in the assigned markets, regulatory changes, and applicable federal and state laws governing real estate transactions.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of attorneys and support staff to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice in North Carolina.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on commercial real estate transactions.
- Proficiency in conducting title searches and managing closings.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and a proven track record of successfully closing real estate transactions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
- High level of professionalism and adherence to strict confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to staying updated on current legislation and legal processes affecting the real estate industry.
