Job Description
Talis Group’s company client is a Louisville and Southern Indiana title company and law firm specializing in real estate transactions. Our client is hiring a Closing Paralegal responsible for coordinating and facilitating residential and commercial real estate closings from contract to funding. This role ensures all closing documents are accurate, legal requirements are met, and transactions are completed efficiently while providing exceptional customer service to buyers, sellers, lenders, and real estate agents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule real estate closings with all parties involved.
- Review title commitments, purchase contracts, lender instructions, and closing documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare Closing Disclosures (CDs), settlement statements, and other closing documents in compliance with federal, state, and lender requirements.
- Verify identity of signers and ensure proper execution of legal documents.
- Balance files and confirm all funds have been received prior to disbursement.
- Collect, receive, and disburse closing funds in accordance with company policies and escrow regulations.
- Communicate regularly with buyers, sellers, lenders, real estate agents, attorneys, and other stakeholders to ensure timely closings.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, state regulations, lender guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate transaction records and protect confidential client information.
- Follow up after closing to ensure documents are recorded and transactions are finalized.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in title, escrow, real estate, or mortgage closing preferred.
- Knowledge of title insurance, escrow procedures, and real estate closing processes.
- Familiarity with Closing Disclosures, settlement statements, and lender documentation.
- Strong understanding of federal and state real estate regulations.
- Proficiency with title and escrow software Qualia, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic document management systems.
- Ability to obtain a Notary
- Spanish Speaking desired but not required.
