Real Estate Paralegal | Austin, TX (Hybrid)
An AmLaw-ranked law firm is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join its growing affordable housing practice in Austin. This is an excellent opportunity for a real estate paralegal who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced transactional environment and wants to support meaningful, mission-driven work with nonprofit and community development clients.
Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days in-office, 2 days remoteTarget Hours: ~1,600 billable hoursResponsibilities:
Draft and submit applications/filings to governmental agencies, including the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs and local appraisal districtsManage multiple real estate transactions and regulatory matters concurrentlyTrack and meet critical deadlines across transactions and regulatory processesSupport real estate closings - due diligence, document assembly, post-closing deliverablesDraft basic closing, organizational, and related legal documentsPrepare and track property tax exemption requests with appraisal districtsServe as a client contact point for guidance, requests, and diligence collectionCoordinate with vendors for searches, certificates, and closing documentationSupport nonprofit clients on operational, compliance, board, and portfolio mattersProcess vendor invoices and maintain accurate time entriesMaintain organized files and data rooms throughout the transaction lifecycle
Requirements:
5+ years of relevant real estate paralegal experience requiredBachelor's degree preferred; ABA-approved paralegal certificate a plusFamiliarity with corporate entity structures and SOS/Comptroller filingsKnowledge of real estate acquisition and loan financing documentationStrong client communication and organizational skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, NetDocs (or similar DMS), and Intapp (or similar time-entry system)Comfort using AI tools to enhance legal work efficiencyAbility to work overtime as needed
