Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Mechanic to join our Reconditioning Center. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining used vehicles. A critical focus of this position is ensuring that all major powertrain components-specifically the engine and transmission-are thoroughly inspected, sound, and ready for retail sale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Powertrain Inspection: Conduct comprehensive diagnostic tests on engines and transmissions to verify long-term reliability and retail readiness.
• General Diagnostics: Perform thorough vehicle inspections to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Repairs & Maintenance: Diagnose and repair automotive systems, including brakes, suspension, steering, and engines.
• Routine Service: Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid top-offs.
• Documentation: Document all repairs, materials used, and time spent on each vehicle accurately.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with the reconditioning team to ensure vehicles are processed efficiently and on schedule.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification preferred.
• 4+ years of experience as an automotive mechanic or technician.
• Strong expertise in diagnosing engine and transmission performance.
• ASE Certification or equivalent is a plus.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and shop management software.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Valid Driver's License, with no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years
