Description

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is looking for a highly skilled leader with proven management experience and a passion for making a difference in the community.

The Records Management Supervisor in Gainesville, FL, provides oversight and guidance for LifeSouth's data corrections (TARs) and records management systems. This position will also be responsible for maintaining physical records and their confidentiality and security.

LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. We are committed to meeting the blood supply needs of hospitals and their patients by providing the highest quality blood components and services. With more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)

  • Perform all responsibilities listed in the Records Specialist Team Leader job description
  • Expected to be on-call at all times, except for approved paid time off (PTO)
  • Train and mentor all Record Specialists and team leaders
  • Coordinate the daily activities of the staff in the department
  • Ensure responsibilities of the department are completed by staff each day
  • Oversee the operations to success each day
  • Organize and execute regular meetings and feedback for improvement of staff skills and knowledge
  • Assist with and help Maintain high-quality customer service to branch operations and all HQ Departments
  • Coordinate virtual meetings and special presentations for LifeSouth
  • Oversee hiring of new staff and maintain appropriate staffing ratios
  • Perform Onboarding with staff

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One (1) year of administrative or quality assurance experience required
  • Basic computer skills and experience with computer programs such as MS Office
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a variety of physical environments
  • Valid driver's license required. Must meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements
  • Must have a positive and outgoing attitude with excellent customer service skills
  • Associate degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Previous blood banking background preferred
