In your pivotal role as Recovery Coach, you will provide peer recovery support services to patients with substance use disorder (SUD) admitted to VUH (Vanderbilt University Hospital) and will assist patients in achieving and sustaining recovery as defined by each individual patient, with some guidance. You also will facilitate patient access to recovery-oriented substance use disorder treatment, resources, and community recovery groups. as well as maintain ongoing patient support regardless of stage of change and will serve as a motivator, ally, role model, sounding board, and advocate for patients with substance use disorders.Requirements for this job are a high school diploma or GED and CPRS (Certified Peer Recovery Specialist).You will work on site at the Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital and will work traditional daytime business hours, Monday-Friday..
DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:
TheVanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital (VPH)was founded as a psychiatric hospital for children and adolescents. The hospital has expanded the services and now provides services for children, adolescents, and adults. Residents in their PGY 1 and PGY 2 year spend time on each of the following acute inpatient units: Child, Adolescent, General Adult, Psychotic Disorders, and Addiction. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES-To provide bedside recovery coaching to patients admitted to the hospital for SUD related issues.
Serves as a liaison between the recovery community, the addiction treatment system, the medical treatment system, and the patient’s community, family, and social context to facilitate connections across systems of care.
