Job Description
Position Title: Recruiter – Talent Acquisition Specialist
Department: Human Resources
Location: Fenton, MO
Reports to: Human Resources Director
Classification: Exempt
Position Summary
The Recruiter is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process for hourly and salaried positions across multiple manufacturing facilities in a multi-state operation. This role partners closely with plant leadership and hiring managers to identify staffing needs, develop strategic sourcing plans, and build strong candidate pipelines to support operational goals.
In addition to recruiting responsibilities, the Recruiter will support the Human Resources team with generalist-level HR functions to ensure consistent, compliant, and efficient HR service delivery.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly production, skilled trades, technical, professional, and leadership roles.
- Partner with department leaders to understand workforce needs and develop proactive hiring strategies.
- Develop and maintain candidate pipelines for high-turnover and critical roles.
- Post positions and manage applicant tracking system (ATS) workflows.
- Source candidates using multiple channels including job boards, social media, employee referrals, community outreach, trade schools, technical programs, staffing agencies, and networking.
- Screen resumes and conduct phone/video interviews to assess qualifications and cultural fit.
- Coordinate onsite interviews and collaborate with hiring managers on candidate selection.
- Facilitate background checks, pre-employment screenings, and offer processes.
- Prepare and extend employment offers in alignment with compensation guidelines.
- Track recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, turnover trends, pipeline strength).
Multi-Site Support
- Support recruiting efforts across multiple states and facilities.
- Travel periodically to plant locations as needed.
- Ensure consistency in hiring practices while adapting to local workforce market conditions.
Employment Branding & Pipeline Development
- Build relationships with local community organizations, workforce development groups, and educational institutions.
- Support job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach initiatives.
- Develop talent pools for recurring and hard-to-fill roles.
- Promote the company's culture and employer brand across recruiting platforms.
HR Generalist Support
- Assist with onboarding and new hire orientation.
- Support employee relations initiatives in partnership with HR leadership.
- Assist with policy interpretation and employee inquiries.
- Support compliance initiatives including I-9 administration, EEO reporting, and recordkeeping.
- Participate in HR projects, engagement initiatives, and process improvements.
- Provide backup support to other HR functions as needed.
QualificationsEducation & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of recruiting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience recruiting both hourly production and salaried professional roles.
- Multi-site recruiting experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of full-cycle recruiting processes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing workforce dynamics and labor markets.
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms, ADP a plus.
- Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
- Ability to manage multiple requisitions across multiple locations.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with plant leadership.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and compliance requirements.
