D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Region Operations Manager in Operations Department. The right candidate will be responsible for developing basic goals and operating plans for a region. Direct the business within plan to achieve desired profit and return on shareholder's equity. Direct and coordinate the activities of each department within the region to ensure the achievement of region's business objectives. Exercise judgment in determining direction of the division that will most adequately meet the needs of each major constituency that region serves, including customers, employees and owners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Direct and supervise all departments at the regional level

  • Responsible for overall management of region

  • Establish the region's goals for profitability and growth. Assist in the development of aggressive marketing/business development and expansion plans

  • Facilitate the establishment of the region's procedures

  • Develop organizational plans for region-wide operations and associated functions. Approve organizational plans

  • Establish the basic policies with respect to financial management, service strategy and direction, marketing, quality, and general operating methods

  • Monitor activities of administrative departments. Ensure that the management staff receives adequate functional advice, assistance, and service from staff groups/departments

  • Review operations and performance of departments. Take corrective action as deemed necessary to achieve goals

  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

  • Ability to travel overnight

  • Facilitate monthly, quarterly, and annual business review meetings. Identify areas requiring corrective and assigns responsibility and specific commitment dates.

  • Provide counsel, guidance, and coaching to the management staff in developing their personal management and capabilities and professional skills. Assist them in personal development planning and appraise their progress

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • May have supervisory responsibilities

Education and/or Experience

  • Master's degree or equivalent

  • Four to ten years of related experience and/or training

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications

  • Proficiency with MS Office and email

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
