Job Summary

Pregis is seeking a Regional Automated Solutions Manager- Northwest to drive profitable growth, customer retention, and equipment utilization throughout the Northwest Region. This role serves as both a sales leader and technical solutions expert, partnering with customers to identify operational challenges, uncover opportunities, and deliver value through integrated packaging solutions consisting of equipment, automation, and consumables.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager- Northwest, this position is responsible for developing new business, expanding existing accounts, supporting Account Manager development, and leading solution-based selling strategies that create long-term competitive advantages for customers. This position requires strong business acumen, technical aptitude, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of customer organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Growth & Business Development

  • Meet or exceed assigned annual sales objectives (AOP) for machinery, automation, and consumables within the Northwest Region.
  • Develop and execute a territory growth strategy focused on customer acquisition, retention, and expansion.
  • Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities through direct sales efforts and channel partners.
  • Lead complex sales cycles from opportunity identification through implementation and ongoing account management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, end users, brokers, and strategic partners.

Solution Selling & Customer Engagement

  • Utilize a consultative sales approach to understand customer operations, identify gaps, and recommend system-based packaging solutions.
  • Clearly articulate the financial, operational, and productivity benefits of Pregis equipment and consumable solutions.
  • Develop and deliver compelling customer presentations, demonstrations, ROI analyses, and business cases.
  • Differentiate Pregis solutions through technical expertise, industry knowledge, and value-added service.
  • Retain and expand strategic and multi-location customer relationships, including MLA and key accounts.

Equipment & Systems Leadership

  • Lead regional equipment and automation sales strategies to increase customer productivity and maximize equipment ROI.
  • Collaborate with customers on packaging line improvements, automation opportunities, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Coordinate installation activities and customer implementation plans with Operations, Service, Engineering, and Product Management teams.
  • Support equipment utilization and drive increased adoption of Pregis system solutions across the territory.

Team Collaboration & Field Leadership

  • Partner with Account Managers to develop opportunity pipelines and strengthen solution-selling capabilities.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and field support to help Account Managers identify growth opportunities and close business.
  • Influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve customer and business objectives.
  • Actively participate in regional business planning and strategic growth initiatives.

Forecasting, Analysis & Administration

  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, opportunity pipelines, and account activity within CRM.
  • Analyze market trends, customer profitability, competitive activity, and regional performance metrics.
  • Track opportunities from prospecting through order fulfillment, installation, and payment.
  • Support accounts receivable activities, exception pricing approvals, quote generation, order submission, and expense management.
  • Ensure all administrative responsibilities are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Achievement of revenue and profitability objectives (AOP)

  • Equipment sales, utilization, and automation adoption
  • CRM opportunity creation, pipeline management, and customer visit activity

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful sales experience.
  • Experience in protective packaging, industrial products, automation systems, manufacturing, or distribution environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated success selling capital equipment, consumables, and/or solution-based offerings.
  • Experience managing distributor, end-user, vendor, and strategic partner relationships.
  • Proven ability to prospect, negotiate, and close complex sales opportunities.

  • Ability to understand and apply technical, operational, and financial concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence without direct authority.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools.
  • Ability to handle product samples and packaging equipment demonstrations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the Northwest Region (up to 50%).
