Summer 2027 Regional Operations Internship

As a Frontier Regional Operations Intern, you will gain broad exposure to multiple areas of our business while working alongside experienced operations leaders and professionals. This internship offers hands-on experience in safety, facility operations, equipment maintenance, construction projects, and agricultural operations, providing a strong foundation for a career in agriculture, operations management, or industrial maintenance.

What You'll Do

As a Regional Operations Intern, you will support daily operations across Frontier's business units while developing practical skills and industry knowledge. Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with operational activities across Frontier's grain, agronomy, feed, and energy divisions.
  • Supporting workplace safety initiatives, safety training programs, and identifying opportunities to improve safety performance.
  • Helping maintain safe, organized, and efficient work environments.
  • Supporting truck scale operations and customer service activities.
  • Operating and maintaining equipment such as skid loaders, wheel loaders, and tractors under appropriate training and supervision.
  • Assisting with truck loading, unloading, facility cleanup, and dump site operations.
  • Completing safety documentation and helping ensure compliance with operational procedures.
  • Participating in safety, operations, and financial training programs designed to broaden your understanding of the cooperative business model.
  • Learning to read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and facility layouts for equipment and construction projects.
  • Gaining exposure to agronomy operations, including crop application processes and aerial application support during fungicide season.

Preferred Education & Interests

  • Pursuing a degree or career path in Agriculture, Agricultural Operations, Agricultural Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, Agribusiness, Diesel Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in agriculture, operations, maintenance, and facility management.
  • Desire to learn how multiple business units work together to support customer success.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to troubleshoot operational challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, seasonal demands, and a fast-paced work environment.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to repeatedly bend, kneel, climb, and walk extended distances.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and in non-climate-controlled environments.
  • Ability to safely work in confined spaces and at elevated heights when necessary.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to travel throughout Frontier's service territory as needed.
