Our Newest Opportunity:

The Regional Payroll Manager oversees the end-to-end payroll processing function, ensuring accurate and timely payroll for all employees while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role collaborates with HR, Finance, and other departments to manage payroll operations, improve processes, and ensure accurate reporting and payroll tax filings. The ideal candidate will bring extensive payroll experience, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in payroll management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all payroll operations, including bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee payroll tax compliance, managing filings and remittances, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain and update payroll systems, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Ensure accurate processing of employee compensation, including base pay, bonuses, overtime, deductions, and garnishments.
  • Develop and implement payroll metrics and reporting, providing regular updates to executive leadership and supporting financial reporting needs.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to resolve payroll issues, streamline workflows, and implement system improvements.
  • Manage payroll audits and support external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Supervise and mentor the payroll team, providing training and development opportunities to support growth and skill enhancement.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes related to payroll, benefits, and taxation, and adjust processes as needed.
  • Lead projects to support payroll system upgrades, new payroll initiatives, and process automation.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of payroll practices, tax regulations, and relevant laws (e.g., FLSA, multi-state payroll, garnishments).
  • Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paycom) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make sound recommendations.
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and manage vendor relationships.

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of payroll experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or director role.
  • Experience managing multi-state payroll processing.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred.
  • Experience with payroll system implementation and process improvement initiatives is highly desirable.

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company's performance.
