Position Overview
The Regional Safety Manager will be responsible to lead and manage the efforts to promote safe and compliant practices within our Corporate Health & Safety Dept. In the field of Construction, the Regional Safety Manager will be focused on providing safety expertise along with risk recognition/reduction skill, driving the goal of "Zero Accidents or injuries" through a proactive, safe work practice that utilizes prevention and mitigation techniques when assessing potential risks. Key traits for the individual in this position are: highly developed communication skills, team player, trainer, strategic and creative, excellent project management skills and the ability to drive performance from all areas within the company.
One position available to cover the Colorado and Utah territory.
Essential Functions
Regional Lead Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)
- Maintain current knowledge of safety trends and practices in the industry to adapt to changing safety environment
- Identify and implement company best practices to create standards in order to continuously improve safety practices
- Manages safety region to eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety training programs related to occupational injuries directly related to the construction/manufacturing industry
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures
Communication and Reporting
- Compiles, analyzes, and interprets statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and/or accidents and prepares reports for informational purposes
- Act with a sense of fiduciary responsibility.
- Prepares incident reports for regions and works with operations on dissemination, review and recommended actions
- Compile and submit reports required by company management, regulatory agencies (OSHA), which also includes Ad Hoc reporting where necessary.
Audit/Compliance
- Perform comprehensive EHS facility and field audits
- Create corrective action plans based on audit findings and partner with operations for deliverables
- Facilitate timely completion and closure of corrective action plans
- Subject matter expert on all corporate and governmental regulatory issues within assigned region
- Conduct and facilitate field and facility safety meetings and training
Regional Safety Management (Day to Day Operations)
- Train and develop regional resources on overall Construction Safety
- Investigate Injuries and Incidents and develop root cause analysis and corrective action plans
- Document all Injury and Incident Scenarios, Causes in company EHS information system
- Communicate Injury and Incident Scenario along with Root and Contributing Causes to the organization to facilitate proactive injury and incident avoidance activity.
- Manage OSHA citations and investigations within assigned region
- Analyze metrics and review monthly incidents to understand trends and align resources to focus on key areas
- Audit data collection and reporting practices to confirm compliance with federal and state regulations
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree (highly preferred)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
- Construction Health Safety Technician (CHST)
Legal Age Requirements:
At least 18 years of age
Experience
- 5+ Years' Experience
Type of Required Experience:
- OSHA/EPA/DOT regulations and safety administration in a transportation, construction, distribution, general industry or warehousing environment.
- Proficient in OSHA & EPA Regulations, State and Federal laws, along with proficient knowledge in all Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
Travel: +/- 50%
Position Location: Territory covers Colorado and Utah.
Compensation offered is highly dependent on qualifications, certifications, skills and experience.
Compensation Range:
$90,000.00 - $135,000.00
To comply with Pay Transparency laws, employers must disclose an annual salary range. Actual offers depend on factors such as location, experience, skills, and market data. This position may also offer variable compensation.
