Job Position: Registered Communications Distribution Designer

Location: Austin, TX 78758

Pay Rate: $55 $65/hr

Description: Registered Communications Distribution DesignerAustin Area | $55 $65/hrTradeSTAR is hiring an experienced RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) for advanced commercial structured cabling design and infrastructure projects throughout the Austin area. These roles support enterprise-level clients, large-scale commercial construction, data center environments, and complex network infrastructure deployments.We are seeking a highly skilled design professional with deep knowledge of structured cabling systems, telecommunications infrastructure, and ANSI/TIA standards capable of leading design, documentation, and coordination efforts from concept through construction.Job Responsibilities Design and develop structured cabling systems for commercial and enterprise environments Create and review telecommunications infrastructure layouts including MDF/IDF design, backbone pathways, horizontal distribution, and entrance facilities Develop and manage riser diagrams, floor plans, rack elevations, and cable pathway documentation Specify copper and fiber optic cabling systems including Cat6, Cat6A, single-mode, and multi-mode fiber Design pathways including conduit systems, cable tray, innerduct, and underground infrastructure Coordinate with architects, engineers, IT teams, and construction managers on system integration and build requirements Review construction drawings, submittals, and shop drawings for compliance with project specifications Ensure all designs meet ANSI/TIA, BICSI, NEC, and industry best practices Perform site surveys, infrastructure assessments, and feasibility studies for new and existing facilities Support installation teams with design clarification, field coordination, and as-built documentation updates Evaluate technology requirements for voice, data, wireless, security, and converged network systems Assist with project budgeting, material specifications, and infrastructure planning Technical Requirements Active RCDD certification required Strong experience in structured cabling design and telecommunications infrastructure planning Deep knowledge of ANSI/TIA standards and BICSI best practices Experience designing enterprise-level copper and fiber optic systems Ability to read and produce complex construction drawings and network infrastructure layouts Experience coordinating with multiple trades and engineering disciplines on commercial projects Familiarity with data center design, mission-critical environments, or large commercial campuses preferred Strong understanding of low-voltage systems including voice, data, security, and converged networks Compensation & Benefits $55 $65/hour depending on experience Weekly pay Long-term commercial and enterprise project opportunities Career advancement within structured cabling and telecommunications design Exposure to large-scale, high-profile infrastructure projects If you are a qualified RCDD looking to work on advanced commercial and enterprise network infrastructure projects, apply today.TradeSTAR Austin Office305 N.
