Job Description
- Coordinate recruitment, orientation, and scheduling of volunteer dentists.
- Assists dentists with patients during clinic sessions.
- Take, develop, and mount x-rays
- Take and develop digital x-rays and intraoral photos
- Make impressions for dental restoration
- Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care
- Conduct dental charting and other record-keeping duties
- Provide dental hygiene education to patients in individual and/or group settings.
- Prepares dental room prior to clinic sessions.
- Enters patient information into the computer.
- Maintains proper specifications for equipment (e.g. conduct required autoclave tests).
- Maintains adequate supply of all dental supplies and equipment.
- Clean and sterilize instruments in between patients and at the end of clinic sessions.
- Assists in networking with outside agencies to obtain dental services that cannot be provided at the clinic.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Dental Assistant certificate required.
- Radiation Safety Certificate Required. High School Diploma or GED required. Knowledge of filing procedures and practices.
- RDA Certification required.
- Two years of experience as an RDA in a dental office.
- Fluency in English a must; bilingual Spanish a plus.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

We also provide comprehensive medical care at our 10 part-time satellite clinics hosted by our community partners throughout Downtown Los Angeles and Watts.
