Job Description

Beloit Health System is hiring Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Rehabilitation Department at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

  • Shift:1st
  • Schedule:8a-4:30p
  • Hours per week: 24 hours per week

  • Department: BMH Cardiac Rehabilitation

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates direct nursing care provided to Cardiac Rehab patients. This Registered Nurse provides care and instruction to patients and families regarding heart disease based on specialized knowledge. The Cardiac Rehabilitation Registered Nurse will:

  • Communicate and coordinate with physicians and other departments to provide quality patient care.
  • Assess the basic physiological, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.
  • Plan patient care.
  • Implement the plan of care, including cardiac rehabilitation therapy.
  • Evaluate patient's health status in relation to outcomes achieved as a result of nursing interventions and/or medical therapies.
  • Provide patient and family education.
  • Promote healthy cardiac lifestyles.
  • Provide cross coverage in stress testing.

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing, ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree acceptable.
  • State of Wisconsin nursing licensure, compact license or temporary permit required. (If a compact license, application for a State of Wisconsin nursing license must be initiated in no more than 30 days from start date).
  • Critical care background or certification as Cardiac Rehab Specialist is desirable.
  • BLS within 3 months, ACLS 6 within 6 months.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply proper procedures to Beloit Health System policies.
  • Requires ability to work independently and to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Employee possesses the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform the following activities (evaluation, treatment, and patient care) for patients in one or more of the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
  • Successful completion of pre-placement physical examination.
  • Involves physical effort that includes full range of body motion which includes standing, walking for extensive periods of time. Also assists with lifting patients up to 25 pounds weight, pushing transport carts ranging in weight of 50-200 pounds.
  • Required to have manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires to see and hear at a level sufficient to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Requires working in sometimes stressful conditions or irregular hours.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
