Job Description We are seeking an experienced Travel RN for a high-acuity Cardiac Cath Lab / EP Lab assignment at WellSpan York Hospital. This invasive cardiology department is a high-volume procedural unit with 4 dedicated Cath Labs, 2 EP Labs, and 23 prep/recovery bays performing over 6,000 cardiovascular procedures annually.

The RN will support diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, structural heart cases, EP procedures, and advanced cardiovascular therapies including PCI, TAVR, ECMO/VAD support, ablations, pacemaker/ICD implants, pulmonary interventions, and complex coronary procedures.

Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and comfortable staying until the last patient is cared for when needed.

This is a tobacco-free and fragrance-free facility. Travelers should be informed prior to submission.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and EP procedures
• Circulate and monitor diagnostic and interventional cardiac cases
• Assist with PCI, left/right heart catheterizations, stent placements, cardioversions, and structural heart procedures
• Monitor and administer procedural sedation
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias during procedures
• Perform ACT monitoring and sheath removal
• Assist with vascular closure devices including Perclose and StarClose
• Support advanced procedures including ECMO, VAD, TAVR, Impella, ASD/PFO closures, pulmonary embolization, and valvuloplasty
• Obtain and interpret 12-lead ECGs
• Administer antiarrhythmics, vasopressors, thrombolytics, and emergency cardiac medications
• Maintain infection prevention and PPE standards
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Collaborate closely with interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary cardiac teams

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years recent Cath Lab RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Strong experience with interventional cardiology procedures required
• Must be flexible with shift end times and willing to stay until all patients are cared for
• Minimal call required as needed
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed
• Clinical prescreen and manager interview required
• Experience with advanced structural heart or EP procedures highly preferred
• Could care for COVID-positive patients

Qualifications Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years recent Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience required
• Experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiology required
• Experience with procedural sedation and cardiac monitoring required
• Experience supporting EP Lab or structural heart procedures preferred
• Experience in high-volume cardiovascular procedural environments preferred

License:

• Active RN License
