PCU RN - Ortho Ratios: 1:5. *NOTE: On rare occasions, Ratio could flex to 1:6 and travelers will be expected to take the extra patients. Years of experience REQ: 2 Years Experience Required: Need level 1 trauma experience, high acuity orthopedic patients. Post op care of orthopedic trauma pts with other over flow surgeries from eyes to gyn. Large pt turnover on the unit daily with high volume admits. Must be good at giving blood products and with mobility. Total Joints, ORIF any fracture, Laminectomy, Hand surgery, bladder suspension, some gyn surgeries, some eye surgeries. Teaching and Trauma Level 1 Experience Required. First-timers accepted: (Y/N) Yes Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit. Weekend REQ: 8 weekend shifts in Saint Luke s 6-week schedule period, combination of F/S/S. Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? regular floating may be required between departments, units and facilities as needed. WILL INCLUDE OTHER PCU FLOORS Certs REQ: BLS, ACLS Skills REQ: Work Settings: PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown. IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs. MEDICATIONS: PCA. Orthopedics: Ortho trauma, Peripheral nerve block catheters, Total Joint Replacements, Plastics: Surgical drains. Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation Precautions Wound Care/Wound Vac.
