Job Summary

The position to which you are applying is represented by a collective bargaining unit, Massachusetts Nurses Association.

Reimagine what nursing can look like.

At Mass General Brigham Home Care, you'll build meaningful relationships, use your clinical judgment, and make a difference where patients feel most comfortable.

As an RN, you'll have the independence to manage your patients and schedule, without giving up the support of a strong team.

Join our Weekends team

Most visits will be throughout the North Shore and surrounding communities, with coverage extending across the greater North Shore area and nearby towns.

You'll work with a diverse patient population and provide care where patients live every day, with less traffic, easier parking, and weekdays off for a better work-life balance.

Why you'll like this team

You have independence, but you're never on your own. We're offering a generous weekend bonus of $25,000. Recognizing and valuing exceptional talent, we're eager to discuss the exciting details of this bonus during our interview process.

  • Flexible weekend schedule: 20-hour part-time position with Saturday and Sunday 10-hour days, 3 starts of care or 3 resumptions of care visits per day, and the autonomy to manage your own schedule and appointments. Holidays are off unless they fall on a weekend.
  • Ancillary support services: Scheduling coordinators, liaisons, and other support services help with the administrative and coordination needs of care, allowing you to spend more time focused on your patients.
  • Strong team culture: Work alongside a collaborative team that values communication, teamwork, and supporting one another. Monthly team meetings, and bi-yearly in-person team days help keep the team connected.
  • Support to grow: Ongoing training, education, and opportunities to collaborate across disciplines.

A strong start matters

Home care can be a big transition, especially if you're coming from a hospital or other clinical setting. Our onboarding is designed to help you feel prepared and confident working independently in the community. You'll also have ongoing opportunities for training, education, and professional development.

Your time matters, too

Your schedule includes dedicated time for documentation and chart review. Our MGB electronic documentation system gives you easy access to doctors' notes and orders, helping make communication and care coordination more seamless.

Your safety matters

We provide safety resources to support you in the field, including:

  • GPS-enabled safety tools
  • Real-time alert features
  • Security-supported key fob access

What you'll do

As an RN, you'll oversee the patient's plan of care and work closely with an interdisciplinary team.

  • Complete patient assessments and admissions
  • Develop individualized care plans
  • Provide skilled nursing care, education, and treatment
  • Coordinate care with patients, families, and providers
  • Document care and review charts
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care

Qualifications

What you'll bring

  • Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
  • Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license
  • At least one year of acute care nursing experience (home care experience preferred)
  • Comfort working with various computer systems; experience with handheld clinical devices preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work with diverse populations
